This is why i hike Colorado

Here we go!

14er Time!

Tomorrow is the 2008 summer 14ering kickoff hike for me... We've decided to take on the Mount of the Holy Cross. Tomorrow. 12 (approx) mile, 12 hour estimated round trip (though I'd estimate closer to 14 hours). I'm going to be out with a new backpack and I'm taking along the Olympus E420 for this hike - we'll see what I can come up with. I'll mobile blog in as cell coverage permits, and I will get a picture gallery online when I'm home. I will be out from tonight at 11pm (MDT) to tomorrow around 6pm MDT for this hike... 14 hours plus a drive is a looong time, especially seeing as we need to summit by 9am.

Stay tuned here for more updates!

Ugh...

As of tonight, my hands are stiff as boards, I have a wonderful red phillips-screw shaped scar on my right hand, and not much of a back deck... unless you count the pile of boards in the yard.

Pictures... tomorrow... I sleep now.

And So...

Last summer followed the traditional trend of boring summers that made me feel useless...

Looks like this one is going the same way...
